2011 Black AES 17.0hh
There is nothing to stop U-Genius becoming a truely great sporthorse. He has the genetics (by an Olympic medalist out of a full sister to the great dressage horse of modern times), the type (powerful, with great bone, super balance and trainability), and he is in the hands of the best team around (Claire & Carl Hester and Amy Woodhead).
He has already achieved Approved status with the AES and is achieving scores of over 90% in freestyle age classes.
His first crop are only yearlings (2016 crop), but already seem to be stamped with a lot of strength and a very good topline.

Uthopia and Carl Hester were part of the 2012 Olympic Gold Medal winning team, assuring his status as one of the British public’s favourite dressage horses. This came on the back of an Individual Silver and Team Gold at the 2011 European Championships and preceded a European Team Bronze in 2013. A naturally active hind leg and a stellar temperament are among the many attributes he possesses.
As well as U-Genius he is the sire of KWPN licensed stallion Just For You. He also sired the BEF Futurity Elite foal Welford First Utopian and a number of Higher First premium foals.
He is by far the best produce of his sire Metall, who competed himself to small tour and also produced the breeding stallion Special D and international Grand Prix horses such as Uranium W and Totall Tip Top ( 3 x European Junior team).
U-Genius’s dam Weidyfleur II is the only full sister of record breaker Valegro. I do not need to expand on his credentials here as he has captured the public imagination far outside the world of dressage.
In addition to U-Genius, Weidyfleur has produced another AES licensed stallion Integro (by Dimaggio) and a half sister Her Genius (by Lord Leatherdale) who are being prepared for their competition careers.
Further back the damline is more influenced by jumping. Gershwin was a 1.50m jumper by the super sire Nimmerdor and continuing with more Holstein jumping blood. You will also notice there are two crosses of the Olympic medallist Ferro in the pedigree. Although he succeeded at the highest level in dressage, Ferro too started as a jumper.
In addition to Negro and Metall, he is also the sire of Rousseau, whose son Zack is establishing another very successful sire line.
